Tractebel Engineering S.A. in Poland was the winner of Eco-Investment Leader contest in the category: Contract Engineer.
The contest, under the patronage of the Ministry of Regional Development, was organized for the fourth time by the Polish Association of Aid Funds Beneficiaries.
The aim of the contest is to promote the efficient use of EU funds, in particular those connected with environmental investments.
The contest was intended for investors, engineers, consultants and companies that over the past three years were contractors of investments related to the improvement of environmental conditions and were co-financed by the Cohesion Fund. The jury, after verification of the presented documents, pre-selected companies in each category. Then, the winners in each category were chosen, based on the material and ecological effects of the investments made in the years 2004 - 2013.
7 investors, 10 contractors and 5 contract engineers were awarded within the fourth edition of the contest "Leader of the Eco-Investment".
One of the prize-winning investments was the project "Water management in Chrzanów". For over three years a team of experts from TE Katowice performed the function of Contract Engineer for the modernization of water supply and sewage system for Chrzanów, Libiąż and Trzebinia (total number of inhabitants - about 100 thou., approx. 40 km away from the office of TE Katowice). The award, in the form of impressive crystal statuette, was presented to Hanna Wieczorek, the Vice-president of the Board of TE S.A. Katowice and to Alicja Czopek, the representative of the Contract Engineer team, during gala in Toruń on 12 April.
